New Student Orientation

Allow Us to Introduce Ourselves HU Orientation program is a great way to learn about all of the exciting things that HU has to offer. These programs are designed to enrich student life, prepare students for academic excellence, provide campus entertainment and promote student volunteerism and prepare students to be leaders in their communities.

HU Orientation program assists new students in their transition from School to University and provides a foundation for academic excellence at HU. During orientation, students can enroll in classes, become familiar with many academic departments and meet new students within the same course.

We support each student both inside and outside the classroom in becoming engaged on campus academically and personally. Our programs, services, and quality-of-life facilities are designed to maximize your potential and help you succeed. Whether through campus involvement, academic support, service, and accountability opportunities, our collaborative teams help you connect with peers, faculty, staff, and alumni for a more meaningful HU experience.

The First Year Programs in the Student Life office offers a First Year Mentor Program. This is a great opportunity to get connected to an experienced / trained student leader as well as faculty members that can help answer your questions and provide support! Join Student Societies.

HU exposes its vibrant and diverse student body to numerous opportunities for interaction with fellow students and the community. Involvement in social, service and leadership organizations fosters the connections that stay with our students long after graduation. Through active involvement, students gain knowledge, skills and experience in leadership, communication, problem solving, group development and management, budgeting and finance, presentation, public speaking and much more. With more than 8 student societies, there is sure to be at least one, if not more, that appeals to your interests.
